MEET The conductor

Liza Grossman is a conductor, producer, and creative director who has redefined the role of orchestras in contemporary media. She is the founder of the award-winning Contemporary Youth Orchestra and Kaboom Collective, where she currently serves as creative director and conductor of the Kaboom Studio Orchestra.

Grossman has led over 500 world premieres, including 21 concerti with members of The Cleveland Orchestra, and has collaborated with Pulitzer Prize-winning composers such as Bernard Rands and Joan Tower. Her orchestral collaborations span a diverse range of artists, including Styx, Jason Mraz, Melissa Etheridge, Kenny Loggins, Ben Folds, Graham Nash, Tommy Shaw, Jon Anderson, Pat Benatar, Bootsy Collins, Jefferson Starship, and many others.

As the tour conductor for Styx, Grossman has conducted performances at prestigious venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. She produced the acclaimed One With Everything: Styx and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra concert, which has been broadcast on AXS TV, PBS, VH-1 Classic, and Palladia.

Grossman's work with the Kaboom Studio Orchestra focuses on producing professional recordings, live sessions, and multimedia experiences that blend classical foundations with contemporary storytelling. Her projects have been featured on major streaming platforms, in films, and across broadcast channels, showcasing her belief that orchestras are powerful creative engines for modern storytelling.
